About CEF Piney Woods Chapter
Your Piney Woods Chapter of CEF (originally CEF of Smith County) was established in March of 1964. Originally the chapter just included Smith county but in June of 2010 the chapter name changed to Piney Woods and grew to include the counties of: Anderson, Cherokee, Henderson, Smith, and Van Zandt.
Your local chapter has a full time director and a team of part time ministry volunteers.
We are governed by a local board which meets monthly. We adhere to the policies and proceedures incorportated by CEF International.
We fall under the leadership of East Texas which is located in Houston, Texas. Marlynn Sellers is the State Director and serves with a State Board of Directors.

Laura Jennings, Director
Laura became Director for CEF Piney Woods Chapter in October 2017 after working with Good News Clubs for over eight years. Laura’s background and hands on experience working with children through CEF and at Grace Fellowship, where she currently serves as Children’s Director, are part of what made her a great choice for Director.
Having come to Christ as a young child herself, Laura is a beautiful example of why reaching out to small children with the gospel is a critical ministry. Laura’s own mom led Laura to Christ as a small child at such an early age that she honestly can’t recall a time when she didn’t believe in God. Having been involved with children in Christian settings all her life, she loves to see their faces light up when they learn about the Lord.
Laura and her husband have a grown adopted daughter who was left in her care when she was 26 days old. They also have two grown sons as well as four grandchildren, one of whom currently lives with them in the Bullard/Flint area.
